Roomoo studio created an immersive leather ribbon pattern for a local restaurant. The restaurant location is close to a small river surrounded by trees. It offers a calm retreat from Shanghai. The intention was to preserve this calm while at the same time reinvigorating it with modern design elements.

To achieve this, the designers created a web pattern made by leather ribbons. As a comparison of plant roots spreading into the wall. It creates a sense of movement and dynamism within the space that catches the eye. The two colours of leathers make a vibrant graphic pattern. We wanted this canvas to be like an "haute couture", that would wrap around the space, like a tailor-made garment.

At the entrance, the warm leather pattern on the wall stands in contrast with the dark metal ceiling, while welcoming customers. According to the designer, all design elements in the space participate in constructing a strong design identity. Our pattern's horizontal and vertical lines continue at different scale into our custom-made furniture, custom made lightings and mosaic patterns. The first-floor furniture plan adapts to different events such as parties, family reunions, or friends. While the second floor offers a private lounge and a private dining room. On the third floor, is the roof terrace.

The interior extends outside to create a vertical metal tubes net on the facade, where the climbing plants can grow. The aim was to create a continuity between the interior design and the natural elements outdoor. In the process, the vertical tubes allow to enlarge the facade and to acknowledge the entrance.
